Artbooks dump part 2/2!

- So, more pics of that KLK Guide Book. I already said it, but I wouldn’t recommand it if you’re looking for good quality artworks. It’s mostly texts/interviews, screenshots and chara-designs you already saw.
You can see they squizzed all 16 Newtype illustrations on… 7 pages… come on! You’ve got 200 pages, why not arrange a page for each illustrations, even a double-page for those horizontal ones…
The good part is, there are here and there some Imaishi designs (see those Elite Four doodles? aren’t they funky drawn by Imaishi ^^)

There’s a previous artbook with only chara-designs in black and white, like production turn-around references if you prefer.
But we can guess there will be eventually a groundwork released, I’m waiting for this one. And they announced a second KLK Guide book, I wonder if it’ll be the same layout :/

- One Piece 13th log. It’s not really an artbook, but it’s almost better as you can enjoy Eiichiro Oda’s gorgeous artworks in big. This is the exact same size and number of pages (700!) as a classic Shonen Jump magazine and it was made for late One Piece readers to catch up quickly on the multiple first volumes. One Log contains about 3,5 books and I think there are about 20 of them for now (they stopped after that Ace story) but I wonder why they don’t keep on publishing those. Anyway, you can find them for very cheap in any good Book-Off store (in Japan but also in France and maybe in USA too?).

They added some extra covers for your classic One Piece volumes and each Log book has a cute chibi extra story at the end.

It’s a must-have if you’re frustrated of the tiny size of classic One Piece volumes (and if like French readers, you’re stuck with a very poor quality edition with dazzling white paper and washed-up ink who eats every details…)

Anonymous said: Either I'm very bad with internet or it's hard to find good COMPLETE scans of the PSG books. Vol 2 is especially hard to find x___x

Ha, sorry about that! I haven’t checked since 2011 when I saw them. I actuallt kept the high res scans from the 1rst one (didn’t download the second as by then I bought both books), send me an e-mail and I’ll send you a link!

Artbooks frenzy! Lots of new great artbooks released recently *3*
- Little World 2 by Oyari Ashito (A friend was amazing enough to buy it for me and get a dedicace at Japan Expo convention, YAY!!), old and new works. Lots of lolis in this one!

- Kill la Kill 1rst artbook, lots of screenshots and interviews, the Newtype illustrations are really small. But there are great designs, especially some small doodles from Imaishi (we haven’t seen lots of KLK artworks from Imaishi yet).

- Bravely Default artworks, this one is gorgeous. Different papers and inks, it’s a beautiful object. I didn’t know many different designers worked on the different classes designs, among them are Take, Hideki Ishikawa and the Soul Eater mangaka Atsushi Okubo. There’s a code at the end of the book for special outfits, if anyone can tell me how to use it, I’d be grateful (Agnes in a bunny girl outfit!)

- And finally, the very long-awaited Rockin’ Jellybean artbook \*3*/ I’ve been waiting for this one for more than a decade but it was worth the wait! Beautiful papers, inks, layers, very big and fat artbook with lots of his famous pin-up illustrations, figurine designs, music artworks… the guy is so productive they couldn’t put all his work, but it’s a must have on your shelves!

Anon asked “Heyy you posted some artbooks a while ago. They all looked pretty awesome! Can you recommend any other artbooks at all? Some of your favourites or something? Would be nice ^^”

Well here’s a pic of my artbooks, point the ones you’re interested in and I’ll take some pictures and share infos!
